Our Email to the District councillors
Following the leafleting campaign regarding the public consultation from from Obsidian Strategic, we thought you might like to view the email we sent out to all 33 district councillors giving our view on Obsidian’s latest move.
Lodge Farm Update
Hello VOW supporter,
Obsidian Strategic, has recently delivered some 2000 leaflets to local households, announcing the start of their `public consultation’ regarding the proposals.
Their sales pitch is based on the need for more warehouse space in the region, the low paid jobs this will deliver and the investment such a development will bring to Hart. As well as the biodiversity 'enhancements' that will be forced upon the existing unspoilt views, open and historic land and public footpaths used by you and your families. All totally spurious.
VOW, with your help and the help of other concerned organisations, will debunk these mythical claims and provide Hart Planning Department and any government inspector allocated to the inevitable appeals process with sufficient evidence to have any planning application that may be submitted declined.
We will advise you in due course about what's needed to defeat any application that results from this 'consultation' process.
What you can do now:
Respond to the proposal via the QR code on the leaflet, and state that you strongly object to the development giving a variety of reasons – traffic impact, ruining the River Whitewater, taking productive arable land, no local need etc.
We are preparing for when the application is submitted and we need your help. If you have any expertise whether that be legal, environmental, communications, technical or you just care about our community, please get in touch via our email admin@villagesopposewarehouses.org or via the website at www.villagesopposewarehouses.org.
Look out for our next message and in the meantime please let us know if you have any questions.
Rumours run rife when this sort of event happens and we will help you separate fact from fiction. We have kept your Parish and District Councillors up to date so if you wish to contact them with your concerns about this consultation then please do follow up directly as I'm sure they're as concerned as you are about this latest development.
Regards
The VOW Committee
