On Saturday 1st August 2026 Obsidian Strategic, the London based company promoting this development, announced a 14 day consultation period as part of their preparations to submit a new 'Megasheds' planning application. The developer has updated their website to say that they will now be submitting an application this Autumn. So, imminently.

The proposed site is currently prime agricultural land providing the crops we need to support this nations food security

The developers propose to decimate the site, covering it with concrete and over a million sq ft of warehouses with thousands of HGV movements 24/7.

The new proposal appears to differ very little from their original pre-application which was rejected by Hart Planning back in 2024. The only difference is that the same million square footage is now housed in 4 'Megasheds' instead of 5, but otherwise pretty much the same unsustainable proposals.
