This shows the developers proposed plan for five warehouses totalling well over 100,000 sq m on farmland at Lodge Farm

The Proposed Development

Obsidian Strategic is a developer based in London which has put forward a proposal to build an industrial park containing five enormous warehouses at Lodge Farm just south of the M3 close to Junction 5 and near the rural village of North Warnborough in Hampshire.

The site is currently farmland producing potatoes and other key food crops and also contains a series of ancient footpaths with nearby Roman remains. It contains streams that flow into the nearby River Whitewater, one of only 200 chalk streams left intact in the World.

Pristine Farmland at Lodge Farm, North Warnborough

Pristine farmland growing vaulable crops- This is under threat from the developers

The development will create enormous and permanent disruption and change the character of North Warnborough and surrounding areas. The developer’s figures estimate over 12,000 vehicle movements during daylight hours, 7 days a week, coming and going from North, South, East and West. A “significant proportion” of that number will be 40-ton HGV’s using the site 7 days per week, 24 hours per day.

We believe that this development is wholly inappropriate for this rural location which is prime agricultural land and is subject to regular flooding. However, to fight this development we need YOUR help to help us lobby the appropriate planning authorities and the councillors that represent your views.
